When every form of information is delivered by machine---
When the entire population's banking, food purchases, airplane tickets, gasoline, electricity and everything essential for basic human survival is delivered by machine---
Then it will be possible to shut off the machine to control the people.
Shut off all essential services for three days and you'll have a grumble. Shut them off for three months and you'll have mass panic, chaos, deaths and injuries, and a society willing to accept any conditions to turn it all back on.
"Yes! Here's my gun! Now turn on my fridge, air conditioner, television, computer!"
"Yes, yes, install all the cameras you wish, millions!"
*Yes, close the borders and use force to keep immigrants from entering the United States. Shoot them if you want. American Idol's on tonight!"
